“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.” –Stephen Covey

Isn’t it interesting that we invest so much time and energy into the things that at the end of the day are often not what become the meaningful memories in our lives. Have you ever experienced being in a rush to meet a deadline or a rush to the office because you are running late from an appointment? Does the heavy heart, tight back and uneasy stomach remind you that you are ignoring yourself or are they the very things that motivate you to do what you are doing? Do you suffer from chronic “I have to’s”? Most likely you are experiencing the impatience that we operate in. A paradigm that certainly does not produce “Better Business”.

I love the quote by Stephen Covey because it really reminds me that the only access I have to actually being able to do all the things I want to do is by being patient and taking one step at a time. I have had the opportunity to practice the tenderness that is required for self growth and it really does feel good.

There are three steps I practice regularly to create a deeper valley of patience and tenderness within myself:

1. I practice stopping in the middle of things that I am doing and take three breaths and focus on a part of my body. Maybe a toe or a hand or my heart. Whatever it is that I choose to focus on is not particularly important, what is the focus is that I bring my awareness to the present moment and the best way to do it is to localize my attention.

2. I have created an affirmation that illustrates what I am creating in my life. I have posted this in my car, my office, my bathroom, and in my purse, again to bring focus and attention to it and move the energy around it.

3. I ask for help, I delegate, and I share which creates collaboration and the opportunity to receive. When I invite contribution, I empower others and can recognize the contribution that I am.

As I practice the tenderness I wish to experience, I allow for the natural growth and expansion to happen and thus create better business.

How do you do “Better Business?” I challenge you to be the observer in your own life and look to see if your actions are supporting your intentions.

Hi I’m Monika Zands and it has been my lifelong dream to share in the lives and experiences of many different people. Along my journey I have had some pretty major mountains and roadblocks that have required patience, silence, wisdom, questions, and more patience to move through. And in each case as I evolved from the challenges or the issues I was presented with I was attracted to incredibly dynamic and unique people. Some of these people became incredible teachers, some wonderful friends and some valuable adversaries that stretched me into new ways to look at my self and the world around me. Through my life I have been a person of integrity, accountability, impeccability, playfulness, joy and most important to me, love. Although I may not agree with the choices that I notice someone is making, I encourage and support their growth always to the best of my ability. As I have learned new ways of interacting, and a heightened level of conscious communication my relationships have deepened and my commitment has strengthened. I have reached a place of intimacy with my self that allows me to get in touch with the aspects of myself that allow me to shine and inspire others. I am like the sun warming the faces of people around me on a crisp cold winter morning. Bring light and radiance to the moments of darkness that play a role in every beings life. I have been given the gift of intuitive sight, and my motto is, “I help you cut through the crap to get to the gold”.

It brings me joy and excitement to share in the lives I touch and be touched by the lives I get to share in.

My intention is to walk the planet inviting caterpillars to become butterflies and fly towards goals, dreams, peace and love.

I invite you to open the door to your soul and silently listen to what it is asking of you and take one small step towards the life you have held in your dreams.

See you on the other side of your jump,

Monika
